For more than 80 years, the Metro DC Chapter of ATD has proudly provided talent development professionals with learning opportunities, networking, and resources to help them create a world that works better. With more than 300 members in the Washington, DC area, we are strengthened by professionals specializing in talent development. Whether you work for a large company, a small non-profit, or are employed as an independent contractor, and whether you are brand new to the industry or have decades of experience to share, we know you'll find your professional home with Metro DC ATD.

Purpose

The PURPOSE of the Metro DC ATD chapter to provide guidance and opportunities for the practical application of talent development knowledge gained through formal resources and training provided by ATD national.

The DC Metro ATD chapter was recognized for the value it provides to our members through well-run chapter programs, services, and exceptional operations as the result of the individual time, resources, innovation, thought, and dedication that its volunteers contributed in 2022.

The DC Metro Chapter was recognized as one of the top three CARE-achieved chapters for the highest percentage of joint membership.

The DC Metro ATD chapter was recognized for the value it provides to our members through well-run chapter programs, services, and exceptional operations as the result of the individual time, resources, innovation, thought, and dedication that its volunteers contributed in 2021.

The DC Metro ATD Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) was recognized for its submission to the ATD “Sharing Our Success” (SOS) program. The national SOS program identifies best practices among local ATD chapters and uses them as models for other chapters. The chapter was recognized for its Board Member Technology Onboarding.

The Metro DC Chapter was selected as the recipient of the ATD Excellence in Advancing the Profession Through ATD Certification (APTD/CPTD) Chapter Excellence Award. As the 2021 winner of this esteemed award, ATD recognized the Metro DC Chapter for demonstrating the best effort among large-sized chapters in 2020 by leveraging the ATD Certification to add significant value to its members.

The DC Metro ATD Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) was recognized for its submission to the ATD “Sharing Our Success” (SOS) program. The national SOS program identifies best practices among local ATD chapters and uses them as models for other chapters. The chapter was recognized for its Chapter Website Revamp. The chapter substantially revamped its website early in 2021 and modernized the look and feel of it.

The DC Metro ATD Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) was recognized for its submission to the ATD “Sharing Our Success” (SOS) program. The chapter was recognized for its Virtual Networking Happy Hour Series implemented as a result of the pandemic.

The Metro DC Chapter was looking for more ways to engage its members and the talent development community. A team started The Beltway Podcast. The team (also known as the “Pod Squad”) represents chapter volunteers who also serve in board positions: Christina Eanes, Laetitia Gnago, Halyna Hodges, and Stephanie Hubka. The podcast gives members and nonmembers alike, consistent access to talent development-related tips, recommendations, practical advice, and knowledge-sharing in a fun and creative way.
