The Premier Association for Talent Development Professionals in the Metro DC Area
Is your training strategy relevant to today's learners? Does it allow learners to absorb information in a 24/7 world? What if learning was truly integrated into the everyday work of your organization? What would it look like if employees were consistently inspired and motivated to seek new perspectives? How could your training products more deeply meet learners' needs?
During this 90-minute hands-on session, we will address these questions using design thinking (DT), a way of reframing problems that has been adopted by many top Fortune 500 companies, and has been featured on CBS's 60 Minutes twice in the last two years. Working in small groups, you will use DT techniques to reimagine what learning could be. Take the ideas that your team generates back to your organization to inspire new and meaningful ways of reaching learners.
Amanda Chavez has blended design thinking (DT) and instructional design principles to help foster growth and innovation for a group of healthcare/IT consultants at Cognosante, where she is a Director of Training and Development. Prior to her work at Cognosante, Ms. Chavez also used a hybrid DT/instructional design approach to address some of the toughest problems facing our nation, including Veteran unemployment, active shooters in public spaces, sexual assault, and suicide.
Katarzyna Siedlecki is a learning experience specialist and design thinking practitioner with Booz Allen Hamilton’s Strategic Innovation Group (SIG).
