A new year is always a good time for reflection, so join us to reflect on the current state of learning and talent development with DoD's Civilian Workforce Chief Learning Officer, David Rude. He will discuss DoD's most pressing talent development challenges, and key learning initiatives for addressing them. We will learn about the innovations DoD is exploring and discuss today's most important trends and best practices for enabling organizational achievement through learning and development. Questions submitted ahead of time via email to COP_leadership_dev@dcatd.org will be given priority, and Dave will also be taking questions asked in session.

Dr. Rude is the Acting Executive Director for the Department of Defense Human Resources Strategic Programs and Advisory Services. He leads the full spectrum of civilian talent management strategies, including: Departmental executive resources; leader development; strategic workforce planning; recruitment; human resources community management; and strategic analysis. He is also the Department of Defense’s Chief Learning Officer (CLO), responsible for promoting learning initiatives to drive a high-performing, talent and results-oriented civilian workforce of 800,000 employees. He has degrees in business administration, public administration, and a Doctor of Education from the George Washington University. Research interests include emotional intelligence, organizational culture, and adult learning.

Today, Dr. Rude is here to discuss issues regarding the Department’s civilian workforce talent development.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
