Join us for a very special joint networking event between ATD Greater Boston and Metro DC that is all about forging new connections based on opportunities to help one another.

Asking for help can be daunting. We worry that we’re being a bother or asking for too much, but did you know that helping others is scientifically proven to make people happier? Tonight we will challenge you to provide others with the opportunity to be a little bit happier by asking for help and offering it in return. Come prepared with a simple request that you can make and an open mind about the skills you have to offer. You will use these conversations to build new relationships across both chapters – you never know who can help!

We encourage you to work around concrete requests such as, “I’d like to do an informational interview with someone at a biotech company.” or “I’d like some feedback on my LinkedIn profile.” or “I’m looking for beta readers for a book I’m writing.” Pick something that showcases what is new and exciting for you right now and will help people get to know you.

We may not be able to hand out business cards, but we can still trade LinkedIn urls. Learn how to customize yours here: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/topics/6042/6054/87

Bring your pens and pencils, sticky notes, and blank paper, and be prepared to have some fun!

In this session, delivered by Profit First certified coach, Carrie Donatelli, we will learn how to transform a business from a cash-eating monster to a money-making machine. Conventional accounting uses the logical (albeit, flawed) formula: Sales - Expenses = Profit. The problem is, businesses are run by humans, and humans aren't always logical. Serial entrepreneur Mike Michalowicz, in his book Profit First, has developed a behavioral approach to accounting to flip the formula: Sales - Profit = Expenses. Just as the most effective weight loss strategy is to limit portions by using smaller plates, by taking profit first and apportioning only what remains for expenses, entrepreneurs will transform their businesses from cash-eating monsters to profitable cash cows. Attend this session to learn about the Profit First cash and profit management system, and take away the initial steps you need to take your company to the next level of success and profitability! At Profit First, we have a mission to Eradicate Entrepreneurial Poverty!

    Presenter:  Carrie Donatelli

Carrie Donatelli, Founder & CEO of Peak Business Group, LLC, has over a decade of Operations experience, specifically in the Construction Industry. She has spent time helping other entrepreneurs get their businesses started as well, gaining experience in bookkeeping, payroll, human resources, 401k plans, health care programs and literally everything that happens behind the scenes in business. Carrie founded Peak Business Group, LLC in 2019 and has been successful in helping other small business owners with business plans, financials, human resource management and payroll. Carrie has recently become a Certified Profit First Professional and can help any business owner become more profitable and increase their owner’s pay by 2-5% per quarter, over a 4-8 quarter coaching period.

Where does an employee’s sense of psychological safety come from? The answer isn’t “from their interactions with their L&D department”. Psychological safety is created and lost in the environment in which people do their work, and as learning and development professionals we naturally operate outside of that environment. So, what is it that we can do from our peripheral vantage point to enhance the feelings of psychological safety within the teams and organizations that we support?

Join us for an interesting and engaging session on strategies and tactics for enhancing psychological safety in the workplace.
